HbA1c

Measured in %

Your average blood sugar over roughly the last three months. Harder to game than a single fasting draw.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

Low
<4.5 · Uncommon — check · for blood loss
Optimal
<5.4
High
5.7–6.4 pre-diabetes · ≥ 6.5 diabetes

What moves HbA1c

Reflects the last 90 days of diet, activity and sleep. Caution on TRT: faster red cell turnover and repeated phlebotomy can falsely lower A1c — pair it with fasting glucose and insulin rather than trusting it alone.
