RDW
How much your red cells vary in size. A quiet early-warning marker — it moves before the other counts do.
What the numbers mean
These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.
What moves RDW
Rises with iron, B12 or folate deficiency, recent blood loss or donation, and with the recovery phase after any of those. Persistently high RDW with normal counts still deserves an explanation.
