Sleep Apnea Screening

Measured in STOP-BANG, 0–8

An eight-question screen for interrupted breathing during sleep. Not a lab, but one of the highest-yield checks on this entire list.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

Low
0–2 · Low risk
Optimal
0–2
High
5–8 · High risk — sleep study

What moves Sleep Apnea Screening

Scored on snoring, daytime tiredness, observed pauses in breathing, blood pressure, BMI, age, neck size and sex. Untreated apnea lowers testosterone, raises hematocrit, and blunts your response to therapy. Treating it sometimes raises testosterone on its own, without any prescription.
