TSH
The pituitary's demand signal to the thyroid. Counter-intuitive: a high TSH means the thyroid is under-performing.
What the numbers mean
These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.
What moves TSH
Raised by autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's), iodine deficiency, and aging. Lowered by overactive thyroid and over-replacement. Biotin supplements corrupt this test — stop biotin 72 hours before the draw.
