CA-125

Measured in U/mL — women

The ovarian marker. Useful for following a known problem, and a poor screening test on its own, because so many benign conditions move it.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

Low
<5 · Not meaningful
Optimal
<35 · Post-menopause: <20 preferred
High
>35 · Imaging, then gynecology

What moves CA-125

Rises with menstruation, endometriosis, fibroids, pregnancy, pelvic inflammation, liver disease, and recent surgery. Before menopause a mildly high value is far more often benign than not. Timing the draw away from your period reduces false alarms.
