Calcium

Measured in mg/dL

Tightly controlled mineral used for muscle contraction, nerve signals, heart rhythm and bone. Your body defends this number hard.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

High

What moves Calcium

Controlled by parathyroid hormone and vitamin D, not by how much dairy you eat. A persistently high value warrants a parathyroid work-up. Falsely high with dehydration or a tight tourniquet; interpret alongside albumin.
