HDL Cholesterol

Measured in mg/dL

The 'good' cholesterol that helps clear fat out of artery walls.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

Low
<40 · Risk factor
Optimal
50–70
High
>90 · Usually benign

What moves HDL Cholesterol

Testosterone therapy commonly lowers HDL by 10–20% — expected, and less concerning if ApoB stays low. Raised by aerobic exercise, olive oil, and moderate alcohol; lowered by smoking, high triglycerides and inactivity.
