What is a good eGFR level?

BioForge works to an optimal range rather than the lab's reference flag. For eGFR that is >90, measured in mL/min/1.73 m². A result inside the lab's normal range can still sit outside the range where most people feel and function well.

An estimate of how well your kidneys filter. Calculated from creatinine, so it carries creatinine's muscle-mass blind spot.

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

What moves eGFR

Declines roughly 1 point per year after age 40 as a normal part of aging. Falsely low in very muscular men — cystatin C gives a cleaner read in that population.
