Estrone (E1)

Measured in pg/mL

The second estrogen, made mostly in fat tissue rather than in the testes. In men it is a passenger marker — useful mainly to show how much aromatase activity is running in body fat.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

Low
<10 · Rarely the problem
Optimal
Men 10–60 · Women, cycling 17–200 · Post-menopause 7–40
High
>60 in men · Look at body fat

What moves Estrone (E1)

Rises with body fat, aromatase activity, alcohol, and testosterone dose. Falls with fat loss and with aromatase inhibitors. Read it next to estradiol — a high estrone with a normal estradiol points at fat-tissue conversion rather than at the dose.
