ALP (Alkaline Phosphatase)
An enzyme from the liver's bile ducts and from bone. On its own it means little; it matters in context with the other liver values.
What the numbers mean
These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.
What moves ALP (Alkaline Phosphatase)
Raised by bile duct blockage, bone healing or growth, an overactive thyroid, and some medications. Naturally higher in teenagers and in pregnancy. If ALP is up but GGT is normal, the source is usually bone rather than liver.
