Lp-PLA2 Activity

Measured in nmol/min/mL

An enzyme that travels inside artery plaque. It measures whether plaque is inflamed and unstable rather than simply present.

What the numbers mean

These are the ranges BioForge works to. They are not the same as a lab's reference range, which is built from the general population rather than from people who feel well.

What moves Lp-PLA2 Activity

Reflects vascular inflammation specifically, unlike hs-CRP which reflects inflammation anywhere. Improves with lipid lowering, fat loss, stopping smoking, and better blood sugar control. A high value alongside normal cholesterol is exactly the case standard panels miss.
